EDIT : org-mode version 9.1.9 (release_9.1.9-65-g5e4542)

I use the format @User as a TAG in some TODO lines in my org files. I've just noticed that, when calling the sparse-tree function, with C-u / m (so that it only acts on TODO items), or equivalently I call the same function from the agenda-view, the query returns nothing . I can do the same operation on tags not containing the '@' symbol, and everything works as expected.

I can perform standard word search and I don't see any problem either.

Is there anything special with the character "@", or something else I'm doing wrong?

  • I don't see anything wrong by reading the relevant section of the manual: orgmode.org/manual/Tags.html "... Every headline can contain a list of tags; they occur at the end of the headline. Tags are normal words containing letters, numbers, ‘_’, and ‘@’. Tags must be preceded and followed by a single colon, e.g., ‘:work:’. Several tags can be specified, as in ‘:work:urgent:’. ..." Perhaps there is a wrong regexp in the source-code that needs to be fixed .... Please specify what version of org-mode you are using so forum participants can see whether it has already been fixed ... – lawlist May 7 '19 at 17:47
