I am trying to setup a compile for Emacs on Windows using the CL C++ compiler provided by Windows with Visual Studio 2017.

as can be seen from the above image, however, when I enable -WX which turns on warnings as errors, the first few warnings are colored as errors as opposed to warnings. I tried as per a suggestion online:

`(add-to-list 'compilation-error-regexp-alist 'devenv)`

`(add-to-list 'compilation-error-regexp-alist-alist '(devenv
               `"*\\([0-9]+>\\)?\\(\\(?:[a-zA-Z]:\\)?[^:(\t\n]+\\)(\\([0-9]+\\)) : \\(?:see declaration\\|\\(?:warnin\\(g\\)\\|[a-z ]+\\) C[0-9]+:\\)"
                2 3 nil (4))))

but this did not work and i cant figure out how to fix the regexp or if that is even the issue at all. any help would be appreciated, since I really am not too familiar with emacs or regex.

  • Looks more like missing an include file - do you use stdafx.h if I remember well... – Ian May 24 '19 at 15:02
