Let's suppose I have the following outline in org-mode:

If I use tab to cycle through the states, starting from a fully hidden state, we get:

then

and finally the fully expanded view:

Is there an alternative to tab which will not jump immediately to the fully expanded view?

I.e. after the second view above, it would instead show:

and then:

enter image description here

and finally the fully expanded view.

    In an unrelated thread where I wrote up a solution to completely hide the :PROPERTIES: drawer (including the word :PROPERTIES:), I mentioned an optional modification to org-cycle-internal-local that permits the user to cycle through an additional step.
