I am new to emacs. I know we can open a shell, eshell, or term with M-x shell, M-x eshell and M-x term. I have a program that needs to run make then run. On an external terminal app, I am on XFCE so XFCE terminal, this make process takes around 10 seconds. Although there are lots of outputs in the main program, mostly just a bunch of print statements, the main program takes around 30 seconds to run.

Using the emac's "shell" mode, either just shell or term, it takes long time for the terminal to display the output from those print statements.

Is there a setting that I need to know to speedup? Thanks

  • Sounds like a bug worth a report. May you provide some example code triggering it? – Andreas Röhler Aug 15 '19 at 6:30
