There is only delay when changing text: navigation all works instantly, as normal.

The delay has gotten to about one full second now, it's getting pretty bad. The file is around 15,000 lines long, the delay appears to scale linearly with the size of the file (when I open a small file the delay disappears).

I'm using Termux, if that makes a difference.

  • That's weird I edit my 12,261 line org configuration file using evil daily but I don't experience noticable delay when editing. Could you specify the specific commands that trigger the delay? It be very strange if commands like dw (delete word) produce a delay since they are independent of buffer size. Or if it is all of them (as you suggest) maybe profiling (gnu.org/software/emacs/manual/html_node/elisp/Profiling.html) could shed some light on the problem? Also does this happen when you're not using termux? – Aquaactress Dec 5 '19 at 14:13
  • As best I can tell, any commands that change text have the delay, so: x, J, d*, c*, ~ etc. The issue does not occur outside of Termux, no. – randouser Dec 6 '19 at 6:40

Seem to have fixed it: though I don't know why.

M-x set-face-font

and chose the default option.
