Windows 10, Emacs 26.1, Ido, Dired

Suppose I'm in in Dired mode. I'm in folder d:/TEMP/test_cases/

And I want to jump to folder e:\BACKUP\mobile\my_backup\

The path is in kill-ring.

So here steps:

  1. C-x d
  2. C-y (yank)

And here result:

Screen#1

Screen#2 enter image description here

Screen#3 enter image description here

Screen#4 enter image description here

Screen#5 enter image description here

Screen#6 enter image description here

As you can see on Screen#3 I get error message:

Error in post-command-hook (ido-exhibit): (invalid-regexp "Trailing backslash")

How I can fix this?

Do you see the same problem when you start Emacs with emacs -Q (no init file)? If not, bisect your init file to find the culprit. IOW, start first by trying with virgin Emacs - no 3rd-party libraries and no customizations, just plain Dired and Ido provided by emacs -Q. – Drew Dec 31 '19 at 17:15
