I'm very new to Emacs (using Doom Emacs) as a former Vim user, and I've been loving it. However, I've been having issues trying to get irony-server to run. From what little I've been able to gather (exits with error 53), it has something to do with Emacs using MS Window's cmd prompt by default.

I am trying to figure out a way to change it to Git's bash.exe, but cannot find the proper way to do so (at least for Windows, since there is no SHELL env var).

If this is not possible, is there an alternative to Irony? I am trying to get decent code completion working for C / C++ and so far, it has been a real pain.
