I have decided to use aspell as a spell-checker and installed it via msys2 (Windows). The command flyspell-buffer works without a problem for all file types. The weird thing is, though, that I only get suggestions for underlined words in the default buffer. If I try to get suggestions for underlined words in a LaTeX-document, I get the error "process ispell not running". This is what the messages buffer reads:

    Spell Checking...100% [document]
    Spell Checking completed.
    ispell-send-string: Process ispell not running
    Error in post-command-hook (flyspell-post-command-hook): (error "Process ispell not running")
    ispell-send-string: Process ispell not running [5 times]
    ispell-send-string: Process ispell not running

The last two lines report me vigorously clicking on an underlined word without success. I've set up aspell and flyspell this way:

    ;;; Aspell ;;;

    (setq ispell-program-name "aspell")
    (setq-default ispell-program-name "aspell")
    (setq ispell-extra-args '("--sug-mode=ultra" "--lang=de_DE-only" "--run-together" "--run-together-limit=16"))
    (setq ispell-program-name "C:/Users/Vitus/scoop/apps/msys2/2021-06-04/mingw64/bin/aspell.exe")
    (setq ispell-list-command "--list")
    (require 'ispell)

     ;;; Flyspell ;;;

    (add-hook 'text-mode-hook 'flyspell-mode)
    (add-hook 'prog-mode-hook 'flyspell-prog-mode)

    (eval-after-load "flyspell"
    '(define-key flyspell-mode-map [down-mouse-3] 'flyspell-correct-word))

It seems to me that aspell closes immediately after the spellcheck. But why? And how can you change it?
