In org mode, we can use the org-indent-mode hook to indent each header level, making a document with an outline more readable.

However, with outline-minor-mode, we the org-indent hook doesn't seem to work, as it just indents everything.

I looked through the documentation and it says the function is related to line-prefix and wrap-prefix, but I can't get it to work.

Since in my outline-minor-mode document (my init.el), the headers are prefixed with various counts of ;, the line-prefix should be ; instead of the default * in Org mode. How can I get the right function to be called?

  • What is "the org-indent hook"? And why would an Org hook have any effect in outline-minor-mode? The question isn't very clear to me.
