I'm new to eshell but not emacs. This question sorta has two parts.

In an eshell buffer, I do apt list >#<apt list> and then get into the apt list buffer and do (ansi-color-apply-on-region (point-min) (point-max)) because apt list output has been Ted Turner Colorized -- which is kinda cute so why not keep it? Is there a pre-existing syntax to do these two steps? (part 1). I'm thinking since colorizing is becoming so popular, there might already be a way to do this.

If not, how can I create a function and then output "to the function"? (part 2).
