Is there a way in magit to turn SHA1 hashes in the commit-message body into a clickable link? (currently it's necessary to click on the SHA1 and press Enter).

<mouse-1>
is bound to mouse-set-point
in most places in most buffers. It is not something Magit should mess with.
It seems you want to sometimes use the mouse to visit commits from a log, without having to also use the keyboard. You can do that, but it requires two clicks. First right click on commit to show the context-sensitive drop down menu and then select Show commit abc123
from that.
You have to explicitly enable context-menu-mode
for that to work. Unfortunately it is not enabled by default.
